CARLOS BARRASA

EVP Commercial & Clean Energies at Moeve

Carlos Barrasa is a leader with 30 years of experience in the energy sector and an international career spanning 20 years, having lived in the UK and China. He specializes in transformation, sustainability, and strategic growth. As Executive Vice President at Moeve, he drives the development of bioenergy, green hydrogen and its derivatives, as well as customer decarbonization through strategic partnerships. His career includes prominent positions at Mobil Oil and BP, where he led organizational transformation at a global level. He received the Shanghai Magnolia Award. Carlos holds a degree in Industrial Chemistry, an MBA from IE, and has completed studies at Ashridge Business School and Kellogg University. Born in Valladolid, he is married and has four children.

ANTONIO MARTÍNEZ RODRÍGUEZ

CEO - Enagás Renovable

Antón Martínez is the CEO of Enagás Renovable, a pioneering company and leader in the development of renewable gases in Spain, playing a key role in the energy transition and decarbonization. With more than 20 years of solid experience in the energy sector, Antón has held different positions of maximum responsibility at Enagás, including Director of LNG Terminals, Director of Business Development and M&A, Director of Transformation, member of the Board of Directors of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline, and Chief Transformation & Green H₂ Officer (2017–June 2022), where he led the creation and launch of Enagás Renovable.

Throughout his career, he has also promoted the creation of Axent, a telecommunications operator, and Enagás Services Solutions, a company specializing in consulting, engineering, and operation and maintenance (O&M) services. He is currently a member of several boards of directors, and he served as Chairman of the Board of Axent and Chairman of the Technical Board Committee of TAP, combining strategic vision, industrial leadership, and innovation.

MAARTEN WETSELAAR

CEO - Moeve

Maarten Wetselaar joined Moeve as Chief Executive Officer in January 2022, based in Madrid. In March 2022, he announced “Positive Motion,” the company’s strategy aimed at transforming Moeve into a leader in the energy transition in the coming years.

Before joining Moeve, he worked at Royal Dutch Shell for 26 years and was a member of the company’s Executive Committee as Director of Integrated Gas, Renewables and Energy Solutions between 2016 and 2021. In that role, he oversaw Shell’s operations in 38 countries, including Australia, China, Canada, Japan, Qatar, Russia, and Trinidad and Tobago. Prior to 2016, he held various financial, commercial and general management positions in Shell’s Upstream, Downstream and Trading businesses in Europe, Singapore, Brazil, Ghana, the Middle East, and Russia.

Wetselaar holds a master’s degree in Economics from the University of Groningen and a postgraduate degree from VU University Amsterdam (Netherlands). After completing his studies, he served in the military as an officer in the Royal Netherlands Navy.

MOHAMMAD ABDELQADER EL-RAMAHI

Chief Green Hydrogen Officer

Mohammad Abdelqader El-Ramahi is responsible for the establishment and development of Masdar’s new green hydrogen business. This will contribute to the positioning of the UAE as a global green hydrogen production and export hub.

The green hydrogen business at Masdar is actively developing cutting-edge programs that will be a significant pillar of the energy transition. It has signed a number of agreements since 2021, including a US$5 billion strategic alliance with ENGIE to drive UAE’s green hydrogen economy, and has plans to develop 4GW capacity green hydrogen plants in Egypt.

Among other highlights, Masdar is exploring the production of sustainable aviation fuels in the UAE using solar-to-green hydrogen and waste gasification, in tandem with bp, ADNOC, Etihad and Tadweer. In addition, Masdar is developing a 2GW capacity integrated offshore wind and green hydrogen project in Azerbaijan.

Mr El Ramahi holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is also a chartered Engineer, Chartered Environmentalist and Chartered Water and Environmental Manager from CIWEM UK, with equivalency to MSc degree in Engineering UK.
